Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This agreement outlines essential terms, conditions, insurance information, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Rental Vehicle Requirements
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Ossett, you must be at least 21 years old; age restrictions may differ based on vehicle type, with potential extra fees for drivers under 25. You need a valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle category, held for the duration stated in the Rental Agreement. Additionally, valid identification and proof of your current address are required, along with payment information and a security deposit. Please review the Rental Agreement for any further conditions.
Ossett Car Hire: Booking & Payment
- Reservations can be arranged via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Ossett location. A booking deposit may be necessary to confirm your reservation. The total payment along with a security deposit is generally required upon vehicle collection. Prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, with secure processing through trusted payment providers.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is essential to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be completed and must be signed to document the state of the car. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition as it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated, with costs added to your account. The vehicle should also be returned with the same amount of fuel as at collection; refueling fees will apply if the tank is below that level. Late returns may result in additional charges, so please notify us as soon as possible if you expect to be late. You will be responsible for any parking tickets, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, along with an applicable administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Coverage
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. You can find full coverage details and excess amounts in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to lower your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You will be responsible for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless further insurance is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of any insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- Use of the vehicle for illegal purposes or activities is strictly prohibited. This includes participation in racing, rallying, off-roading, or any other activities that pose risks. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is also forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, using the vehicle for unintended purposes, exceeding passenger or weight limits, and operating outside agreed geographical boundaries without proper permission are violations of our terms.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and fees.
Liability Limitations
Within the limits set by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Ossett will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits or data, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is capped at the total rental fees paid in the past year. This does not affect our liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
9. Local Regulations
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts.
10. Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
